This notice explains what happens to information you provide through this website. It is written to describe the site as it is actually built, rather than to make broad assurances.

Who is responsible

This website is a personal site operated by Behrang Mohseni, based in Surrey, United Kingdom. For any question about this notice or your information, email contact@behrangmohseni.com.

The contact form

If you submit the contact form, the name, email address, optional organisation, selected topic, and message you provide are sent to a content management system running on a server I control, where they are stored so that I can read and reply to your message.

This information is used only to respond to your enquiry and to keep a record of the correspondence. It is not sold, and it is not used for marketing or added to a mailing list. It is not shared with third parties except where I am required to do so by law.

Your network address is used briefly and in memory only, to limit how many messages can be submitted from one connection in a short period. It is not stored alongside your message.

Submissions are kept for as long as the correspondence remains relevant. You can ask me to delete your message and details at any time by emailing the address above.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns, such as which pages are visited and where visitors arrive from. IP anonymisation is enabled, which reduces the precision of location data before it is processed. Google acts as a processor for this data and sets cookies in your browser to do so.

If you would prefer not to be included, most browsers allow you to block cookies or use a private window, and browser extensions that block analytics scripts will also prevent this collection.

Cookies and local storage

Besides the analytics cookies described above, this site stores your light or dark theme preference in your browser's local storage. That value stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

Hosting

The site runs on a virtual private server that I administer. As is standard for web servers, the hosting layer may record technical request information such as addresses, timestamps, and requested URLs for operational and security purposes.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal information, including the right to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email contact@behrangmohseni.com. If you are not satisfied with my response, you may raise the matter with the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes to this notice

If the site's handling of information changes, this notice will be updated and the date at the top revised.
